Day-by-Day Itinerary
Days 1-2: West Sumba Coast — Arrive at Tambolaka Airport, transfer to our base in Kodi. Orientation ride along the dramatic Pero Beach coastline, visiting ancient Pasola fields and stone-carved royal tombs. Evening welcome dinner featuring traditional Sumbanese cuisine under the stars.
Days 3-4: Southwest Sumba Highlands — Ride into the mountainous interior through Wanokaka and Lamboya districts. Visit ikat weaving villages, explore megalithic tomb complexes, and camp overnight in a traditional village. Full-day highland trail with panoramic ridge views.
Days 5-6: Central Sumba — Cross the island’s central spine through Anakalang, home of Sumba’s most impressive ancestral tombs. Visit the famous Pasunga tomb complex. Ride through terraced rice paddies and tropical forest to Weekuri Lagoon for a swim and picnic lunch.
Days 7-8: East Sumba — Explore the savanna landscapes of East Sumba around Waingapu. Beach rides along the remote north coast, cultural visits to traditional villages, and a sunrise ride that is consistently rated our most spectacular. Transfer to luxury accommodation.
