Marosi Beach provides a gentler setting with its sheltered bay and calm turquoise waters, ideal for riders who want to wade their horses into the warm sea. Tarimbang Beach is our most secluded route — a two-hour ride through coconut groves leads to a crescent-shaped beach where you’re likely to be the only people for miles.

Each beach ride is carefully designed to match rider ability. Beginners enjoy steady walks along firm sand with opportunities to stop and photograph the scenery. Intermediate riders can enjoy extended trots and gentle canters along the waterline. Advanced riders experience the thrill of galloping at full speed along empty beaches stretching hundreds of meters, the ocean spray mingling with the wind in their hair. What to Expect on Your Beach Ride

Every beach riding experience begins at our stables with a safety briefing and horse introduction. You’ll meet your Sandalwood Pony — our native Sumbanese breed known for sure-footedness on sand and a calm temperament around water. The ride to the beach takes you through diverse landscapes: tropical forests, traditional villages, and coconut plantations before the ocean suddenly appears through a gap in the trees. Most beach rides last 2-3 hours, though our extended packages offer full-day coastal adventures with a beachside picnic lunch.

We provide all necessary equipment including helmets, riding boots (if needed), and waterproof bags for cameras and phones. Our horses are fitted with comfortable saddles suited to beach terrain, and our grooms accompany every ride to handle logistics so you can focus entirely on the experience. Water, fresh coconut, and tropical fruit are provided at rest stops along the route.

Beach Riding Safety and Conditions

Safety is our absolute priority on beach rides. Our guides monitor tide schedules daily and adjust routes to ensure we always ride on firm, safe sand. We avoid areas with strong currents or hidden rocks. All horses used for beach rides are specifically selected and trained for coastal conditions — they’re comfortable with waves, won’t spook at sudden movements in the water, and maintain steady footing on wet sand. We limit group sizes to a maximum of 6 riders to ensure personalized attention from guides and a premium, uncrowded experience.
